Pastor's Notes
Expressing Thanksgiving
"Praise God from whom all
blessings flow." In our worship at church, we have a wonderful
opportunity to express thanksgiving to God. God is the One acting,
bestowing, and granting gifts upon us. Every good gift and every perfect
gift is from above. God's blessings and gifts sometimes come quietly, or
unexpectedly, or in a way we never would have imagined. Yet, we have
much to be grateful for as we "count our blessings." In those meditative
moments in worship, I invite you to whisper those "thank-yous" to God.
In all of life's crowded moments, we think about everything else except
to thank God for being with us all day and providing all that sustains
us. Therefore, take those moments to also praise God through a prayer of
thanksgiving. For when we are truly grateful, our hearts of thanksgiving
can not be stopped. Instead, we are overwhelmed with feelings of joy and
trust to Him. So please, take some time to think and thank God for all
the help, comfort, guidance, promises, and gifts that He shares with
you. As the Psalms state: "O Lord, our Lord, how exalted is your name in
all the world." (Ps. 8:1)
Come and worship with us.....as we sing
with uplifting hearts our thankfulness to God. He is almighty and does
more for us than we could ever imagine.
